The Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority (ATIL), the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (HAVTIL), and the Norwegian Maritime Authority (SDIR) set strict requirements for certified (competent) companies that inspect and control work equipment. Personnel performing these inspections must have a solid technical background, thorough knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, and the skills required to prepare correct documentation for completed inspections.
These requirements include both theoretical and practical training. To pass the course, participants must successfully complete and pass both a theoretical and a practical examination.
