Prior knowledge: G11 Module 1 and 2.3 - P-2.1 Fixed crane theory + Module P-3.1 Offshore crane theoryPrerequisites:
To participate, the following modules must be completed and passed:
- Module 1 and 2.3 – G11 Lifting Equipment
- Module P-2.1 – Fixed Crane Theory
- Module P-3.1 – Offshore Crane Theory
Price: NOK 30,500,- (The course is exempt from VAT.)
About the Course
The course consists of 40 hours of practical training on a G5 offshore crane.
These 40 hours, carried out through a certified training provider, correspond to 75 hours of practical offshore crane operation.
After the course, any remaining practice hours must be completed offshore with an approved mentor (mentor agreement + logbook).
The final practical assessment must be conducted offshore with an approved examiner.
- If you already have a G20 crane competence certificate: 35 offshore hours remain
- If you do not have a G20 crane competence certificate: 75 offshore hours remain
Course Content
- Documentation and inspection of offshore cranes
- Planning of lifting operations and risk assessment
- Operating characteristics, applications, and limitations
- Lifting exercises with light and heavy loads
- Lifting operations in varying weather conditions
- CT / AHC
- AOPS, MOPS and emergency stop
- Blind lifts and critical lifting operations
Work Clothing
Training takes place outdoors at the crane area.
You must bring:
- Safety shoes
- Gloves
- Warm/weather-appropriate clothing
BIKS has a limited number of safety shoes available for loan, but we recommend using your own shoes and clothing.
