Guideline No. 116 – Offshore Norge
Recommended guidelines for packing, securing, and transporting cargo, as well as user inspection of cargo-carrying units.
BIKS is an approved training provider of this course for Equinor.
Scope of Application The guideline applies from the supplier and road transport to the supply base, within the base area and out to the vessel – as well as the return chain from offshore installation to vessel, quay, and back to the supplier.
The Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority (ATIL) and the Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (HAVTIL) require that all personnel involved in cargo handling must complete basic safety training.
This training covers competence in the following areas:
- Friction and tightening force
- Breaking strength and dynamic forces
- Packing, positioning, and securing of cargo
- Blocking and bracing of cargo
- Transportation and user inspection of cargo-carrying units
The course includes both theoretical and practical training, and concludes with a theoretical and practical exam.
Both exams must be passed in order to receive a course certificate.
